We are actively looking for qualified individuals interested in living and working in Steamboat Springs including civil engineers with project management, design and construction engineering experience in one or more of the following project types: roads, trails and grading; storm water drainage; drinking water treatment and distribution; wastewater treatment and sewer collection.
Education and licensing requirements include a minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field and a Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain a PE license within one year of start date. In addition, beneficial skills include self-motivation and leadership, excellent organization and communication, technical writing, proficiency with MS Office, AutoDesk Civil 3D and various hydraulic modeling software. More experience than the minimum listed is preferred.

Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified civil engineer passionate about innovative design and sustainable infrastructure. In this role, you’ll work on impactful projects, such as roadways and water systems, that enhance community quality of life and promote environmental stewardship.
Experience is preferred in one or more of the following project types: roads, trails and grading, subdivisions, stormwater drainage, residential development, master planning, drinking water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and sewer collection.

Essential Functions
- Apply civil engineering principles to direct engineering tasks and design project elements.
- Develop construction and bid documents while managing construction administration and on-site observations.
- Conduct Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders and clients, and mentor team members.
Responsibilities
- Complete project tasks independently or collaboratively.
- Design calculations, research materials, and follow applicable standards.
- Prepare plans and specifications.
- Plan, organize, and manage project elements, including permitting and plan development.
- Prepare and review reports and documents, and assist in public and client meetings.
- Engage in marketing efforts with existing and potential clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Colorado or the ability to obtain it within one year.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoDesk Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling software.
- Valid driver’s license and capability to operate motorized vehicles.
Preferences
- Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Construction Engineering.
- Project management experience.
- Prior experience in an engineering consulting role.
